Miniaturised engineered human heart tissues

For discovering new treatments for cardiovascular diseases

The cardiac tissue self-organizes between two pillars, specifically designed to reproducibly measure force of contraction. The system is embedded in a 96-well plate format.

The cardiac tissue contains cardiomyocytes, fibroblasts and endothelial cells derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells. Mixed with our HeartSmart gel it efficiently forms a high-density cardiac tissue.

We are proud to announce that we won the Proefdiervrij Venture Challenge in April 2025. A fantastic experience, a heartfelt thank you to Proefdiervrij and GameChanger Challenge. Read more about this prize on the Proefdiervrij website.
