Precise and long-term force read-outs
The platform harbors microwells with a pair of tapered pillars uniquely designed to confine the highly motile cardiac tissue to a predefined position. This allows reproducible detection of subtle changes in cardiac contraction for a long experiment duration (21 days) with our accompanying automated shape-tracking software.
Scalability
Due to the miniaturized size of our cardiac model, fitting in a 96-well plate format, the system is high-throughput, cost-efficient and user-friendly. This makes it easily adoptable by different laboratories or companies without additional equipment installation and minimum on-site support required.
